Tesco is one of TITAN UK’s best long-term customers.
We help them keep their goods cool all year round, but in the run-up to December 25th last year, they needed our refrigeration solutions more than ever.
CHALLENGE
TITAN Containers was tasked with helping Tesco keep millions of pounds worth of stock chilled or frozen in stores across the country for three months from the start of November.
Turkeys, pies and other festive treats were expected to play a key role in keeping Tesco’s many customers happy over the festive period .
Tesco’s requirements were very specific.
They needed to be able to store goods at a variety of temperatures , so we helped them choose exactly what they needed from our ArcticStore collection of refrigerated containers .
We have models in sizes from 10 ft to 40 ft, capable of various functions, including cooling down to -75°C.
SOLUTION
In collaboration with Tesco , we calculated that 250 ArcticStore containers would be needed to meet the requirements .
Tesco is a fantastic customer who knew their seasonal needs well in advance, so they were able to finalize their order in August.
This gave us enough time to ensure everything was ready by November .
A popular supermarket chain already rents over 400 refrigerated containers from us .
DELIVERY
Our goal from the very beginning was to deliver over 250 ArcticStore containers as efficiently as possible .
Our logistics team worked hard to ensure that the ArcticStore containers were delivered exactly where they were needed in two stages, as planned.
RESULTS
- 600,000 frozen turkeys
- 1.2 million chilled cupcakes
- 3,000 tons of fresh vegetables
- 2 million customers
